About the role

Welsh Government have committed GBP 13 million to the development of autism services in Wales, including an Integrated Autism Service (IAS), which will be delivered over a three-year period as part of a national drive to improve services for autistic individuals and their families, parents and carers in Wales.

We are looking to recruit a Speech and Language Therapist to join the IAS in West Wales. We are looking for a dynamic individual with an innovative approach to service delivery, who shares a passion for making a difference to the lives of autistic people, their families and carers.

Children Services

We are responsible for early help and prevention services and the protection and care of children and families. We aim to support families to bring up their children themselves and work in partnership with parents and other carers. Where the child’s best interests require Social Care to look after them, we will assist the family to keep in contact.    We have responsibility for the following areas:

  • Operations: Business support; Performance management; Porth Gofal.
  • Prevention and Early Intervention: Emergency duty team; Family support service (Team around family, Tim teulu, Penparcau Family Centre); Flying Start; Youth justice and prevention service.
  • Safeguarding, Quality Assurance and Independent Review: Integrated family support service; Mid and West Wales Safeguarding Board (CYSUR); Nominated Child Protection Officer; Regional “Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence”; Schools service.
  • Statutory Services: Children and families assessment service team; Family placement service (family group meetings); Looked after children and leaving care; Mid and West Wales Adoption Service; Tim Plant Anabl.
