About the role

Ceredigion County Council Highways Maintenance (Planned) Section within Highways and Environmental Service is looking for a highly motivated and dynamic individual to be part of a team responsible for ensuring that the Council Highway network meet the needs of the services users, the community and people of Ceredigion.

On a day to day basis you will: 

  • Actively participate in managing temporary road closures within the county.
  • Provide assistance in asset management inventory and data entry / GIS digital mapping.
  • Assist in the implementation and interpretation of UKPMS surveys.
  • Gather and present data to fulfil the departments’ requirements relating to performance indicators.

We are looking to recruit an individual with:

  • GCSC grade C, or above, in 5 subjects including English and Maths or equivalent and/or demonstrable evidence of appropriate experience,
  • Knowledge of highway network including the principles of organising and setting up temporary road closures and Road Traffic orders
  • Experience in maintaining records in an orderly and accessible manner
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
