About the role

Ceredigion County Council Highways Maintenance (Planned) Section within Highways and Environmental Service is looking for a highly motivated and dynamic individual to be part of a team responsible for maintaining and improving the Council’s Highways and Transportation Assets in accordance with agreed strategies and programmes.

On a day to day basis you will:

  • Assist in overseeing and administering temporary road closures and abnormal load movement within the county;
  • Provide assistance in maintaining up to date records of highway activities, which will permit the efficient gathering of performance indicator data;
  • Assist in the implementation of strategies relating to UKPMS surveys & Asset Management;
  • Gather and present data to fulfil the departments’ requirements relating to performance indicators.

We are looking to recruit an individual with:

  • GCSC grade C, or above, in 5 subjects including English and Maths or equivalent and/or demonstrable evidence of appropriate experience;
  • Knowledge of highway network including the principles of organising and setting up temporary road closures and Road Traffic orders;
  • Experience in maintaining records in an orderly and accessible manner;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
