All of our care assistants receive a pro-rata salary of £18,933 per year (£9.81 per hour). Should you choose to work night shifts you will also receive a night allowance. Similarly, a weekend allowance will also be awarded for any hours worked on a weekend.

Direct Payments Personal Assistants

You will provide support to them to live independently in their own home, in the community, at leisure or perhaps at work, helping with various aspects of their daily life.

Due to expanding Affinity Domiciliary care Services are recruiting more care workers to join our team to support our community during theCovid19 crisis.

Shift patterns are 07.00 – 14.00 15.00 – 21.00, alternative weekends. Our rota system works week 1 and week 2, so you know exactly what shifts you are working.

We are now recruiting for night staff – 22.00 – 8.00 (wages to be discussed at interview)

Block sitting staff from three hours up to six hour shift to give service users families respite and service users socialization.

Part-time work available, Evenings, mornings and weekends.

Our Domiciliary care workers are employed to make our service users’ lives easier and more comfortable, to assist/support them to remain in their own homes. Your duties may include assisting with personal care, continence care, assistance with medication, making beds, assisting with laundry, preparing snacks, regenerating meals, and some light cleaning may also be part of role. We provide Training and you will be paid for your training and receive a certificate.

It is extremely important that our service users be allowed to maintain their dignity, privacy during these times. We promote independency and choice. It is a rewarding role, making a difference in our service user’s life. It is especially difficult during this times, as our service users are not seeing their families they may only see their care workers.

We provide full protective wear including, visors, masks, gloves, aprons and hand sanitizers.

Hours

Shared Lives

Shared Lives is a network of self-employed carers with a passion for supporting adults (18+). If you live in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion or Pembrokeshire and would like to provide accommodation and support from your home, this could be the career opportunity you are looking for. There are opportunities for:

Live-in
Full-time support with a vulnerable person as part of your family. Payment varies between £250-£546 weekly*

Short Break
Temporary support to help give someone and their family a break. Payment varies between £36 – £78 per 24 hours*

Shared Days
Daytime support to vulnerable people increase independent skills and access to social and leisure activities such as shopping, going to the cinema, attending football matches, and getting involved with the local community. Payment Varies between £6.80 to £12.50 per hour and can be offered up to 5 hours per day.

Your fee will reflect the level of support required and is inclusive of rent, contributions towards utilities and food.

You will need to:

  • Be over 18 years
  • Have a spare bedroom (for live in and short break work)
  • A sound value base that supports vulnerable people in a positive and enabling way
  • Good communication skills (including spoken and written skills)
  • Be a ‘people person’ who can build positive working relationships with others
  • Bring your ‘whole self’ to your work, using your unique skills, interests, and experience to create the perfect placement for someone
