About the role

A part time opportunity has become available within the newly restructured Corporate Service Support Team. The team provides administrative support to all aspects of the authority, however this role will primarily be providing administrative support to the Cynnal y Cardi Team within the County Council, in the delivery of the EU Rural Development Plan Programme. The postholder will also have responsibility for supporting the Cynnal y Cardi Local Action Group.

The role will involve a wide range of administration duties including minute taking, responding to written and telephone enquiries, liaising with external organisations, and supporting the Finance Team to collect information for the preparation and submission of financial reports and claims to the Welsh Government.

Preferred working pattern two full days and a half day. The post holder will be required to work on Mondays. Subsequent working days to be agreed on confirmation of appointment.

This post is funded through the Welsh Government Rural Communities-Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, which is funded by the Welsh Government and the European Union.

Democratic Services

We play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient management of the decision-making process of the Council, including support and advice to Councillors; PA, administrative and project management support to all service areas; facilitating elections; the communications team; translation and the Welsh Language policy officer.  Our key functions include: 

  • Corporate Service Support: PA and Administrative support; Business support including project management and minute taking.
  • Democratic Services: Councillors; Council, Cabinet, Overview and Scrutiny Committees and Regulatory Committees.
  • Electoral Services: General and local elections; Management of electoral register.
  • Communications Team: Manage communication activities corporately; support services in campaigns and projects; deal with the press and media; develop and issue press releases; manage social media pages.
  • Translation: Documents and simultaneous translation.
  • Welsh Language Standards: Operational; Policy making; Promotion; Monitoring; Service delivery.
