About the role

If you are a caring and compassionate individual, then we would like to hear from you!

We are currently recruiting relief Enablement Assistants to join our Enablement Service. The Service provides support for people who are experiencing a change in their ability to look after themselves following an accident or due to illness. The service offers a comprehensive range of personal and practical enablement care services for adults within Ceredigion, to enable them to continue living in the community, in accordance with their own lifestyle, and with independence, dignity, safety and respect.  The key objective is to enhance the quality of life and relieve the stresses experienced by those who have reduced independence in their own home as a result of a disability, illness or age and offering an enabling service to maximise independence.

As an Enablement Assistant, your key tasks will be to provide support and encouragement in regaining skills or using equipment to aid:

  • Bathing/Personal care
  • Dressing and undressing
  • Mobility and transfers
  • Kitchen skills
  • Exercise programmes for rehabilitation and development under the instruction of a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist if required
  • Medication

You will ensure that:

  • each Service User is valued and has the right to control their own affairs;
  • every Service User has control over how they live their life, make their own decisions and freely express their wishes and preferences;
  • all Service Users have equal rights and are entitled to protection against any form of discrimination or abuse.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a caring and compassionate individual to join a friendly and dedicated team and make a real difference.  As a relief enablement assistant you will have the freedom and flexibility to work on a basis that suits you.

We’ve made it easier for you to apply by simplifying our application form. Submitting an application is now easier than ever! Whilst previous care experience is useful, it is not essential as full ‘on the job’ training will be provided.

In exchange for your skills and interest, we will offer in return a range of employee benefits, including:

  • From 26 up to 36 days annual leave days per year (plus 8 public holidays)
  • Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Learning and development opportunities
  • Salary sacrifice schemes including the Cycle to Work scheme
  • Health and wellbeing initiatives including discounted memberships to our local leisure centres
  • Life-style savings and Vectis card

For detailed information on this role, please refer to the Job Description and Person Specification.

This is an ongoing recruitment campaign and as such there is currently no closing date for applications. Submitted applications will be considered on a periodic basis.
