About the role

We are looking to recruit a mobile cleaner to undertake the cleaning responsibilities within the Council’s various building types e.g. Schools, Offices, Public Toilets, etc. to ensure that they are kept in a clean and hygienic condition.

The Cleaning Service provides an essential service throughout the County of Ceredigion.  The purpose of the role is to undertake cleaning tasks, providing a high standard of service ensuring a safe and hygienic environment.

You will be expected to –

  • to cover in a cleaners absence and to work with a new cleaner on appointment;
  • undertake general cleaning duties during school holidays and building closures;
  • to deliver stock to various buildings, clean out stores and restock;
  • assist other team members in carrying out Covid-19 deep cleans; 
  •  to undertake the cleaning, and maintain standards of hygiene in the building;
  • responsible for all prescribed cleaning activities in the building type as required; 
  •  the post will require a good eye for detail;
  • key holder, if covering for an absent member of staff.

Whilst experience and knowledge of Health and Safety would be advantageous, full training will be provided. 

We are looking for an individual who is motivated, enthusiastic about the nature of the work with a flexible attitude, and able to carry out various duties with a variable work schedule. You must have excellent communication skills.

All roles will require flexibility in terms of location and hours worked which could include early mornings, evenings. 

Please note that a successful applicant without the required Welsh language skill will be fully supported to reach the required standard within two years of appointment.

Driving license is required for this position.
