About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our corporate Project Office for a self-motivated, dynamic and organised individual to join our busy Project Office on a fixed term, full time basis.

The role will provide project support to a major transformation programme across Social Care and the wider authority.

The transformation programme will see a full redesign of the operating model within the Council. It will be based on a through-age service delivery and greater focus on early intervention and prevention, changes to working practices via the adoption of a Signs of Safety approach, and the addition of improved infrastructure and systems to support this change primarily focusing on the development of the existing WCCIS IT system.

The successful candidate will provide support to the Project Manager to deliver a wide range of projects across the transformation programme. Within the role you will also work with operational leads from within Social Care, Early Intervention and Preventative service, ICT as well as external partners and both internal and external stakeholders.

On a day to day basis you will:

  • lead on scheduling, administration and noting of a range of project meetings;
  • manage email communication with the project managers and resolve queries on a day to day basis;
  • be responsible for submitting key documentation and reports within a timely manner;
  • provide project support to project managers on preparing status reports, managing RAID logs and follow up on outstanding actions.

We are looking to recruit an individual:

  • with a project management/managerial qualification to degree/NVQ5 level or demonstrable equivalent experience;
  • with previous Project Support within a local authority or large organisation;
  • ability to collate and disseminate complex information and deliver task to tight deadlines;
  • experience of reporting information and communicating to a range of staff.

Due to Covid19 the Council continues to follow Welsh Government guidelines and as a result this post would initially be home working.
