Are you a Qualified Social Worker looking for the opportunity to work as a Manager in the beautiful, peaceful countryside of West Wales?
We are currently looking to recruit a permanent Team Manager to manage the Planned Care (Child Care Specialism) Team.
This post is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and committed and experienced individual to undertake and develop management and leadership skills in a supportive environment. You will have a thorough understanding of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 and relevant Regulations and Guidance , excellent communication skills and the ability to lead a team and take decisions in relation to children’s case who are in receipt of care and support.
The Authority is committed to Signs of Safety approach and is in the process of transformation to a through-age and whole family model which offers greater flexibility to develop plans & services to meet needs & has resulted in some exciting opportunities for collaborative working between departments within the authority as well as with our partner agencies.
On a day to day basis you will provide expert support and advice to Planned Care Service staff, including assessment of caseloads and workloads in order to ensure adherence to the legislative framework and prioritisation of work in the following areas: Children in Need of Care and Support; Children in need of Protection Looked After Children achieving permanence for the child through legal proceedings; Special Guardianship Orders; Adoption, Completion of Private Family law reports – Section 7 and section 37, Care Leavers.
We require an individual with a degree of fluency in the Welsh language. A bilingual policy is in operation and candidates who do not have the linguistic ability in Welsh will be supported and encouraged to achieve the ALTE standard within 2 years.
