About the role

We are seeking a self-motivated, dynamic and organised individual to join our busy Economy and Regeneration Service on a fixed term, full time basis.

This post will support exciting new developments to support the economy of Ceredigion and across Mid Wales. The post will be a great opportunity for you to work in a growing team, at an exciting time in supporting the economy.

The role will see you supporting local economic activity as part of Ceredigion Councils’ Growth & Major Developments Service, and also supporting regional economic development as part of the Growing Mid Wales Regional Engagement Team, through:

  • Supporting the delivery of regional engagement activity. This will involve organising events and meetings with key stakeholders and will occasionally involve attendance to support project activity. This will involve attending meetings with a range of officers across a range of sectors and seniority
  • Ensuring communication and engagement activity targets are met. This will involve supporting the management of, and engagement with, key stakeholders and project partners. It will also require project support to realise communications activity to promote the work of the project and European Structural and Investment Fund activity in Mid Wales
  • Supporting the collation of project documentation to support performance management of both the project and wider European Structural and Investment Fund projects across the region. This will involve supporting the Regional Engagement Team in developing progress reports and status updates to various management and external stakeholder groups as required
  • Ensuring appropriate monitoring and management of projects risks and benefits. Supporting the project team in the planning and monitoring of project activity

Four Regional Engagement Teams have been set up across Wales to help ensure EU funding proposals meet existing and future opportunities and investments at regional levels – North Wales, Mid Wales, South West Wales and South East Wales.

The Mid Wales Regional Engagement Team (RET) is here to ensure the Mid Wales region gains maximum benefit from EU funding by working with a range of stakeholders – adding value to existing/planned investments within the context of established and emerging regional and thematic activities and opportunities.

The Mid Wales RET is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund and the European Social Fund through the Welsh Government.

Due to Covid19 the Council continues to follow Welsh Government guidelines and as a result this post would initially be home working.
