As part of the ongoing development of our Corporate Service Support function, we are looking to recruit to vacancy within our Intelligence and Systems Team to the role to System and Data Administrator.

The role provides a key role in the provision of information reports, system administration, training and system configuration for Highways and Environmental Services (HES) IT system within the authority.  

The opportunity would suit someone with strong IT skills, excellent analytical skills especially in the use of Excel and the ability to translate this information into reports.

You would need to have good interpersonal skills as not only will you need to train staff on the system and process, engage with operational staff/managers to identify system enhancements, and liaise with providers to details issues and improvements.  

Although a knowledge of the workings of Highways and Environmental Service is not essential it would be beneficial to the role.

Democratic Services

We play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient management of the decision-making process of the Council, including support and advice to Councillors; PA, administrative and project management support to all service areas; facilitating elections; the communications team; translation and the Welsh Language policy officer.  Our key functions include: 

  • Corporate Service Support: PA and Administrative support; Business support including project management and minute taking.
  • Democratic Services: Councillors; Council, Cabinet, Overview and Scrutiny Committees and Regulatory Committees.
  • Electoral Services: General and local elections; Management of electoral register.
  • Communications Team: Manage communication activities corporately; support services in campaigns and projects; deal with the press and media; develop and issue press releases; manage social media pages.
  • Translation: Documents and simultaneous translation.
  • Welsh Language Standards: Operational; Policy making; Promotion; Monitoring; Service delivery.
