We are looking to recruit two Physical Activity and Play Support Officers to join our Wellbeing Centre Service. The two roles will cover Mid Ceredigion and South Ceredigion. The Mid post covers Aberaeron and Lampeter and the South post covers Llandysul, Cardigan and Tregaron areas.

On a day to day basis you will: 

  • To develop and extend inclusive activities within designated geographical/hub areas
  • Link with curricular elements of schools such as PE Departments and ALN Departments to ensure the provision of an integrated and effective inclusive service
  • Lead and supervise the inclusive Young Ambassador scheme including recruitment, training, mentoring and support of young people in all schools
  • Extend provision into council operated facilities and encourage the take up of membership packages
  • To have responsibility for coordinating training and accredited learning opportunities for young leaders volunteering at their school or club
  • To co-ordinate the distribution of investment into community organisations that will result in improved physical activity and play provision in the county

We are looking to recruit an individual:

  • With excellent inter personal skills and the ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Experience in delivering training opportunities and courses
  • Experience of recruiting volunteers or working with community clubs
  • Who is fluent in the Welsh language
