About the role

Our School Service is looking for a very dynamic and enthusiastic individual to be a Educational Support Adviser.  This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive School Service where you will be a key leader on the strategies to improve schools in Ceredigion.

In conjunction with the Corporate Manager for School Improvement and the Chief Education Officer, you will contribute to educational improvement by supporting, advising and challenging schools and partners to achieve the highest standards.

The successful candidate will be expected:

  • Undertake consultancy work in schools and with other partners within the authority and, from time to time, across other authorities
  • Contribute to the work of the School Improvement Team leading on a specific theme of leadership and research and professional enquiry
  • Support schools in further developing a ‘School as a Learning Organisation’ approach embedding the principles of research, professional enquiry and collaboration as a basis for embedding improvement
  • Contribute to the development of school-to-school support by helping to identify innovative and effective practice and supporting collaboration between schools
  • To be a link with the higher education sector to ensure collaboration for the benefit of the development of prospective teachers and school staff across their career.
  • Manage improvement in specific educational areas in the county and attend relevant forums at a local and national level
  • Contribute as required to all aspects of driving improvement in schools
