About the role

We are looking for a motivated, friendly individual to work as part of a team that provides a great experience to everyone that visits our leisure facilities. 

There is an option to job share this role if the applicant wishes.

As a fulltimeSwimming Instructor, based at Plascrug Leisure Centre, Aberystwyth, you’ll lead on the delivery of our school swimming and learn to swim programmeswhich is the foundation of our aquatic delivery for the citizens of Ceredigion. We are seeking an individual who thrives on getting the best out of others by helping them to learn new skills. 

We are embarking on an exciting journey which will seea number ofour Leisure Centres become Wellbeing Centresand these roles provide an excellent opportunity to be part of that journey as we contribute to the promotion of positive health and wellbeing of our citizens. 

As a Swimming Instructor you will assist the manager in the provision of an efficient and effective service and on a day to day basis will:

  • Be responsible for co-ordinating and delivering our school swimming programme and our Learn 2 Swim programme
  • Supervise and maintain the standards of any teaching assistants
  • Be the link between the facility and Swim Wales
  • Handle customers and parents with questions and queries regarding the swimming programme

We are committed to providing a bilingual service to ourcustomersso a degree of fluency in the Welsh language is desirable for this post.Due to our openinghoursyou will be required to work evenings and weekends as part of a shift pattern.
