About the role

Lifelong Learning and Skills is seeking to appoint a dynamic and highly motivated individual to:

  • Support learners with complex or high needs to develop skills which will enable them to make effective life changes and to enable them to reach their full potential
  • Help learners to identify potential barriers and agree and implement realistic plans to assist into training/work, exploring all options available, e.g. personal development and training opportunities
  • Work with learners with complex or high needs, their families and other agencies in a consistent and proactive way, by supporting and sharing good practice in challenging behaviours, in order to achieve best possible outcomes for service users
  • To be responsible for co-ordinating learning and  Skills-based training in small groups
  • The Support Officer will have responsibility for planning, coordinating and delivering inclusive support and intervention for vulnerable and challenging learners
