About the role

This position qualifies for a market supplement payment of £200 per month. Please note this additional payment will be reviewed on 31 March 2023.

We are looking to recruit a dynamic Senior Social Work Practitioner, that holds the qualification of Approved Mental Health Practitioner, under the Mental Health Act 1983, for Ceredigion Emergency Duty team. Ceredigion’s Emergency Duty Team currently responds to all emergencies that arise outside normal working hours, that require actions that cannot wait until the next working day. The role is one of through age, where by a response is provided for all social work/social care and housing emergencies, that the local authority has arising out of hours, involving children and their families, vulnerable adults and people with mental health needs.

Ceredigion Emergency Duty Team aims to provide a service that is:

  • Responsive to Citizens living in Ceredigion
  • That applies a Strength based needs assessment focusing on service user choice and control using the Signs of Safety framework
  • Responsive to requests/enquiries in relation to individuals with Mental Health needs. As an AMHP you must be able to exercise the appropriate use of autonomy, and independence required by the statutory nature of the role, you must be aware of the authority placed in you in this role by the legislation, and be fully aware of its appropriate use
  • Legislatively compliant service that meets the statutory requirements of SSWBA
  • A safe service that identifies vulnerable and at risk Citizens, that responds effectively

The post is one of shift work, across seven days a week

Weekend/Bank Holiday day cover (09.00 – 17.00).

There is an expectation that the worker will work 37 hours per week.

The ability to travel throughout the county is essential.

A bilingual policy is in operation and candidates who do not have the linguistic ability in Welsh will be supported and encouraged to achieve the ALTE standard within 2 years.
