About the role

This position qualifies for an additional market supplement payment of £7,336.00 per year. Please note this additional payment will be reviewed in October 2024. 

The successful candidate may be eligible to up to a maximum of £8,000 (including VAT) towards the cost of expenses incurred as a result of relocating to the county of Ceredigion. We are looking to recruit a Corporate Lead Officer to join our ambitious leadership team on a permanent, full time basis to lead and develop ‘Porth Cynnal Specialist Services’ and to undertake the role of Statutory Director of Social Services.

This exciting position provides the opportunity to be a key partner in the implementation of a pioneering integrated services delivery model and further developing strengths-based, outcome-focussed services for the people of Ceredigion.

As part of our vision to ensure that every child, young person and adult in Ceredigion is able to reach their full potential we are implementing an integrated service delivery model (see Information Pack) that will combine a range of current services and teams into early intervention, prevention and through age specialist services.

As Corporate Lead Officer – Porth Cynnal you will be our designated Statutory Director of Social Services and the lead advisor to the Council on all matters relating to Porth Cynnal Specialist Services.

Responsibilities will include the following services and functions:

• Safeguarding
• Mental Wellbeing and Substance Misuse
• Planned Care and Support Service
• Extended Support Services (Disability)
• Quality Assurance and Independent Review

In addition to the above, we require an individual with a degree of fluency in the Welsh language. The required Welsh language skill is not however required on appointment and the successful candidate will be fully supported to reach the desired standard following appointment.
