The Corporate Service Support function provides a comprehensive administrative service to all areas of the Authority and we are seeking to recruit a Team Leader to continue to support this important role. This will be on a temporary basis, to cover a period of staff maternity until 31 December 2024. The role involves day-to-day supervisory responsibilities for a team of administration staff, across a number of Service areas across the Authority.
About the role
The postholder will be required to undertake tasks associated with supervising staff including coaching, mentoring, and supporting team members with training/induction; authorising leave and sickness and assigning and prioritising work to foster an agile workforce thereby ensuring that the needs of the Service are met. There will be a requirement to work with Operational Managers and other Team Leaders to ensure a high-quality service. Ongoing review of processes and working practices will be required to maintain effective and efficient ways of working.
About the candidate
We are seeking a suitably qualified candidate with experience of working in a supervisory / management role and within an administrative role within local government. You will be required to lead, manage and motivate a multidisciplinary team and have excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to form constructive working relationships with senior officers from a range of internal services. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work flexibly under pressure, display own initiative and work proactively, to prioritise diverse workloads to meet deadlines. A good level of IT skills will be essential for the role.
