About the role

We are looking to recruit a Harbour Works Leader to join our Highways and Environmental Service.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Council’s Harbours Service. We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate that they have the skills and experience to:

  • Undertake the day-to-day management and supervision of the Seasonal Harbour Assistants.
  • Undertake and co-ordinate activities associated with the delivery of Ceredigion’s Harbours Service across the County.
  • Represent the Authority in relation to Harbours matters.
  • Work on their own or as part of a team to deliver an exemplar Harbours Service in line with the Council’s Harbour Management Policy.
  • Motivate and inspire others to work towards achieving the Harbours Service and wider Council objectives.

          Whilst the role is Monday to Friday between October and March, between April and September this role includes weekend and bank holiday working on a 5 in 7 rota basis. The successful candidate will be entitled to the following pay:

          • Saturday – Time and a quarter
          • Sunday – Time and a half
          • Bank Holidays – a choice of double time or single time and a day off in lieu.

              Whilst previous experience is useful it is not essential as we will ensure you have all the training and support you need to confidently undertake the role.
