We are looking to recruit a Business Intelligence Developer to join our Performance and Research Team on fixed-term contract for two years.

We are looking for an individual to support the Social Services performance reporting function of the Council by producing regular performance reports, developing new reporting solutions and meeting statutory reporting requirements to Welsh Government. With a high degree of computer literacy and knowledge of business information systems, the successful applicant will be experienced in systems design, Microsoft technologies and data visualization.

The person we are looking for will play an integral role in the Through Age Well-being Programme to transform social services in Ceredigion and embed the use of data in evidence-based decision making.

On a day-to-day basis you will:

  • Use the Eclipse Social Care System to produce timely and accurate performance reports in-line with the National Performance and Improvement Framework for Social Services.
  • Design new reporting solutions to meet the requirements of both national and local performance management, Freedom of Information requests and for business planning requirements.
  • Research new technical solutions for Business Intelligence purposes to ensure the Through Age Well-being Programme is supported by access to timely and accurate intelligence.
  • Provide expert input on systems development and reporting relating to the Through Age Well-being Programme.
  • Support regulatory inspections through the provision of data and intelligence.
  • Support colleagues across the Through Age Well-being Programme to make the best use of data in their day to day activities.  

            We are looking to recruit an individual with:  

            • A degree in Business Information Systems, Computer Science or an equivalent qualification in a related field, or equivalent experience.
            • Excellent IT systems skills.
            • Excellent numerical skills.
            • Good time management skills.
            • Strong understanding of data security and confidentiality issues. 
            • Demonstrates attention to detail. 

                      In addition to the above, we require an individual with a degree of fluency in the Welsh language. A successful applicant without the required Welsh language skill will be fully supported to reach the desired standard within two years of appointment.
