Are you passionate about food and dedicated to delivering exceptional service? We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team at Hafan y Waun Residential Care Home!

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in upholding the highest standards of service, ensuring a positive dining experience for our residents.

Key responsibilities:

  • assist in the preparation and serving of meals and beverages, including setting up and clearing of tables where necessary
  • recording the temperature of food at the point of service
  • maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and dining areas, including washing up of equipment and utensils
  • collaborate with the catering team to deliver exceptional service
  • ensure strict compliance with current food handling and hygiene standards, guided by Food Safety legislation and Environmental Health Standards
  • adhere to health and safety regulations, encompassing manual handling, COSHH, and safe use of hazardous equipment

    Working hours:

    • 20 hours per week on a two-week rolling rota, to include early/late shifts and weekend working.

    Our ideal candidate:

    • previous experience of working in a kitchen environment
    • demonstrates a basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
    • has excellent teamwork and communication skills
    • displays a willingness to learn and undertake relevant courses as required
