Catryn Lawrence
Headteacher

I have been extremely fortunate to receive advice, encouragement and support from dedicated, knowledgeable and inspiring mentors.

My Story:

After diversifying from studying law and venturing into education, I was fortunate enough to gain my first teaching post at Ysgol Aberaeron, before moving on to teach at Plascrug School. Having had a taste of leading aspects of the curriculum there, I was encouraged by Ceredigion Education Officers to take on the role of school leader, and I succeeded in gaining a post as Acting Head of New Quay and Llanarth Schools, before being appointed as Headteacher of Ysgol Penrhyn-coch and Ysgol Penllwyn, where I have now settled for about 3 years.

Throughout my career here in Ceredigion, I have been extremely fortunate to receive advice, encouragement and support from dedicated, knowledgeable and inspiring mentors. Mentors, who have not only showed the way, but encouraged me to be innovative in order to get the best out of the pupils I serve. After 10 years of working in Ceredigion, I am still proud to have decided to stay here following graduation.
