A vacancy has arisen for the position of Principal Registration and Ceremonies Officer – an opportunity that doesn’t come up often.

About the role

We are looking to recruit a confident, enthusiastic, and reliable individual to join our friendly team to help lead and develop our high-performing, customer- focused registration service.

The main duties of the post will include registering births and deaths in addition to conducting and registering marriages and civil partnerships. Working with the Superintendent Registrar, the successful candidate will oversee and support team members to ensure that all registrations are handled accurately and in full compliance with legal requirements.

In this varied and rewarding role you will be working with members of the public at key moments in their lives, and no two days are the same.

About you

The Principal Registration and Ceremonies officer must:

  • have excellent communication, organization and customer care skills
  • possess strong leadership and people-management experience
  • be able to work accurately with meticulous attention to detail
  • have a high level of computer literacy

Previous experience of working within a registration service is not a requirement as full and ongoing training will be given.

Due to the expectations of the role, it is essential that the successful candidate is able to communicate fluently in Welsh and English.

The successful candidate will be required to attend ceremonies at various locations throughout Ceredigion, therefore they must provide their own transport.

It is expected that the successful candidate will be regularly available to work on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays on a rota basis as required by the needs of the service – for which additional payment will be made for these extra hours or time off in lieu.
