About the role
We are looking to recruit a confident, enthusiastic and reliable individual to join our friendly team to help deliver an efficient and customer focused registration service.
The successful candidate will initially register marriages and civil partnerships before progressing in due course to undertake other duties including conducting ceremonies and registering births and deaths.
In this varied and rewarding role you will be working with members of the public at key moments in their lives, and no two days are the same.
As this is a casual contract, the prime function of this post will be to cover absences of other registration officers and to provide additional cover for busy periods; therefore hours of work will be unpredictable and varied. There is no set weekly hours and the position is offered on an “as and when” required basis.
About you
A registration officer must have excellent customer care skills, be able to work accurately with meticulous attention to detail and also have a high level of computer literacy. Previous experience of working within a registration service is not a requirement as full and ongoing training will be given.
Due to the expectations of the role, it is essential that the successful candidate is able to communicate fluently in Welsh and English.
The successful candidate will be required to attend ceremonies at various locations throughout Ceredigion, therefore they must provide their own transport.
A flexible approach to working patterns is vital as the successful candidate could also be asked to work on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, as required by the needs of the service. To assist with the smooth running of the service, it will be necessary to confirm their availability at least a month in advance.
