About the role

We are seeking a reliable and proactive School Caretaker to ensure our school premises and grounds remain safe, secure, and well maintained. This is a vital role supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school in line with statutory and safeguarding requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain site security, including locking/unlocking premises, alarm systems, and keyholder duties.
  • Carry out daily safety checks and report hazards or concerns.
  • Perform minor maintenance and repairs, and monitor heating and facilities systems.
  • Support cleanliness and environmental standards, including waste management and outdoor upkeep.
  • Undertake porterage duties such as moving equipment and supporting room setups.
  • Complete required logs and follow school procedures.
  • Promote and uphold safeguarding responsibilities at all times.

Working Arrangements

Flexible hours, with daily on-site presence during school hours required. Availability for emergencies and some early/late duties is essential.

About you

Desirable:

  • Experience in caretaking, maintenance, or facilities.
