St Padarn’s RC Primary School welcomes applications from Catholics, but candidates of all faiths or no faith are welcome to apply. The successful candidate will teach the school’s chosen Diocesan approved RE scheme ‘To see me more clearly’ and the ‘Life to the Full’ and ‘Fertile Heart’ RSE programmes and begin to introduce the prayer and liturgy programme ‘To love you more dearly’. Experience of teaching these programmes will be very beneficial.

Experience of teaching in Key Stage 2 is essential, and the successful candidate will be expected to have a firm working knowledge of the Curriculum for Wales. The successful candidate will be expected to lead an Area of Learning and Experience (AoLE) – Maths or Science -throughout the school, lead on a school initiative and contribute to whole school improvement. It would be advantageous for the candidate to have the necessary skills to confidently use incidental Welsh with adults and children and be able to teach Welsh as a second language. It would also be advantageous to have strong IT skills and a secure knowledge of the DCF framework. The ability to work as a team member is vital and the successful candidate must possess good interpersonal skills. The ability to contribute to extra-curricular activities would be an advantage.

Interview Task: Plan a 30-minute session for a class of 30 pupils who are in Years 2/3/4 based on the theme of the World Cup. There will also be a 30-minute formal interview.
