About the role

The Governors of Ysgol Gymunedol Llannon are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a teacher to join our team as part of a permanent job-share arrangement, commencing on 1 January 2027.

Ysgol Gymunedol Llannon is a happy, inclusive and caring school with 43 pupils. We offer a close-knit and supportive environment where strong relationships between staff, pupils and their families are at the heart of all we do. This provides an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to get to know our pupils well, play an active role in school life, and see the direct impact of their work on individual children.

The role will provide the opportunity to work with a mixed Key Stage 2 class of 26 pupils from Years 3 to 6, developing rich and engaging learning experiences that support every child to make progress and enjoy their learning.

The position also offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of specific areas of learning, share ideas and experiences with an experienced and dedicated team, and play a role in developing our curriculum and wider school life. We have a team that values collaboration, mutual support and the individual contribution that every member of staff makes.

Working two days per week in our Key Stage 2 class, there will be the opportunity to develop positive relationships with our pupils and make a valuable contribution to their learning and development.

The ability to work and communicate through the medium of Welsh is essential for this post, equivalent to Level 5 in Listening/Speaking, Reading and Writing in accordance with the ALTE framework. Enthusiasm for contributing to extracurricular activities would also be welcomed.

If you would like to be part of a small, warm and welcoming school where you can make a genuine difference to the experiences and development of our pupils, we would be delighted to hear from you.

We welcome enquiries from anyone interested in this opportunity and would be happy to arrange an informal conversation with the Headteacher, Mrs Natalie Davies, via email at prif@llannon.ceredigion.sch.uk, so that you can find out more about the role, our school and what we have to offer.

Note: We reserve the right to extend the application closing date.

We are committed to safeguarding and protecting children and adults at risk. As part of this commitment, certain roles within our organisation require a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to assess the suitability of candidates. This role will require an Enhanced DBS check. Please note that the presence of previous convictions will not necessarily disqualify a candidate from consideration for this position. We assess each applicant on a case-by-case basis, and take into account the nature and relevance of any convictions in relation to the responsibilities of the role. Our goal is to create an inclusive and supportive work environment where all individuals are treated fairly and with respect.
