About the role

Please note that the advertised salary for this position is subject to the pending 2026/2027 national pay award. The final salary will be adjusted accordingly once this has been agreed.

We are looking to recruit a Cook in Charge to join our Catering team at Llwyn yr Eos Primary School, Penparcau, Aberystwyth on a part-time fixed term basis (6 months initially with a review following a trial period).
You will be expected to manage the school kitchen on a day-to day basis according to the standards laid down by Ceredigion County Council.

The role includes:

  • Preparation and service of school dinners for pupils at the school
  • Preparation of special diets for pupils as required
  • Ensuring observance of Food Safety and Environmental Health standards
  • Ensuring EEC standards on Manual Handling
  • General Health and Safety of kitchen including hazardous equipment and premises
