About the role

Please note that the advertised salary for this position is subject to the pending 2026/2027 national pay award. The final salary will be adjusted accordingly once this has been agreed.

We are looking to recruit a temporary Registered Manager for Yr Hafod Residential Care Home, working on an alternating shift basis over a seven day period.

Yr Hafod Residential Care Home offers 28 residential placements including short term, temporary, permanent and respite. The home also provide a small number of Day Care opportunities.

As Registered Manager you will have main management responsibility for the home’s services, ensuring full commitment to the provision of a high quality, client-centered service in line with the requirements of the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014, and the Regulation & Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act.

On a day to day basis you will:   

  • develop individual care plans and protocols which take into account each client’s physical and social needs;
  • ensure clients and their families are adequately consulted regarding care programs;
  • admit client’s to the home in accordance with the assessment process and participation in subsequent review;
  • undertake managerial duties for all staff employed within the home;
  • ensure good financial management of the home.

We are looking to recruiting an individual with previous supervisory/management experience with the ability to develop innovative, client centred services for older people. Our ideal candidate will have a NVQ 4/QCF 5 in Care Management or studying towards the qualification and able to evidence experience of:

  • providing dementia care;
  • developing and monitoring individual care plans;
  • consulting and liaising with clients and their families;
  • day to management of staff;
  • budget management.

Senior management may direct you to work in any of the Local Authority Residential Care Homes at short notice if there is a safe service issue.

In addition to the above, we require an individual with a degree of fluency in the Welsh language. A successful applicant without the required Welsh language skill will be fully supported to reach the desired standard within two years of appointment.
