We are looking to recruit an Employability Support Mentor to join our Lifelong Learning service.

About the role

This role is essential to support the delivery of targeted employability provision for Ceredigion residents facing complex barriers to employment.

The postholder will provide intensive, person-centred mentoring, enabling individuals to access opportunities, develop skills, and sustain employment.

Through effective partnership working with statutory and third-sector organisations, the role will ensure coordinated, high-quality support, directly contributing to the achievement of programme outputs and long-term employment outcomes.

About the candidate

We are looking for a motivated and empathetic individual with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to support and encourage others to achieve positive outcomes. You will demonstrate a non-judgemental approach, a commitment to equality and inclusion, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Strong organisational and time management skills are essential. A full, current driving licence and access to a vehicle is required, as the role involves travel across the county. Previous experience is desirable but not essential. We welcome applications from individuals with the right values and potential, and full training and support will be provided.

We are committed to developing our people and will not only provide support to enable you to quickly and confidently take ownership of this role’s key areas of responsibility but in addition, we are committed to supporting your development in order that you can progress your career with us.

In exchange for your skills and commitment we will offer you a range of employee benefits including flexible working, competitive annual leave allowance, enhanced family benefits, lifestyle savings and employee health and wellbeing packages.

We believe work-life balance is very important. To support you in achieving this, you will have access to the following discretionary benefits:

  • Hybrid Working: Subject to certain conditions being met, you may choose to work from home or in an office location.
  • Flexi-time: Hours may be worked within a defined bandwidth, Monday to Friday, subject to service needs.
