Ceredigion County Council is transforming the way individuals and families will receive early help and care and support when they need it. We are developing through age and well-being services, new ways of working and a range of exciting initiatives that will help ensure individual and community resilience. This also means that we want to build a flexible and skilled workforce that can make a positive difference to people’s lives. Under this new model the Extended Support Service is being developed. This service is currently made up of 3 staff groups:

  • The Children with Disabilities Team
  • The Community Team for Learning Disabilities
  • The Mental Capacity Act Team

Our aim for the future is to develop through age joined up services with a strong emphasis on prevention and we want to equip staff to support children and adults using a strengths based approach. As a result, exciting opportunities for qualified and non-social worker qualified positions have arisen. We are currently seeking:

  • Qualified experienced Social workers
  • Newly Qualified social workers
  • Support Workers (non Social Work qualified)

As we go forward, the current age specific teams will merge and this will enable us to develop more seamless services and broaden staff’s knowledge and skills. Whilst working as one social care team we will also strengthen our relationship with other agencies such as Health and Education as well as 3rd sector organisations.

Within Extended Support Services there will also be the opportunity to develop specialisms such as working with adults or children with autism, learning difficulties and physical disabilities.

Joining Team Ceredigion will offer you many opportunities to develop professionally, bring new ideas to the team and contribute directly to service strategy, promoting the culture of learning and reflection in a supportive environment.

We believe work-life balance is very important. To support you in achieving this, you will have access to the following discretionary benefits:

  • Hybrid Working: Subject to certain conditions being met, you may choose to work from home or in an office location.
  • Flexi-time: Hours may be worked within a defined bandwidth, Monday to Friday, subject to service needs.
